2021 Maritime Person of the Year
The Propeller Club of the U.S. Port of New Orleans honored Rear Admiral Joel R. Whitehead, U.S. Coast Guard Retired, and President of J. Whitehead and Associates, as their 62nd recipient of the 2021 Maritime Person of the Year Award. The 87thAnnual Maritime Person of the Year Gala was held Tuesday, November 2nd, at Metairie Country Club, emceed by Leo Falgout, Propeller Club President.
The evening started with a cocktail reception, followed by Presentation of Colors by the Customs and Border Protection Color Guard, dinner and award presentation. RADM Whitehead was recognized for his contributions to the maritime industry of Greater New Orleans and was introduced by Neils Aalund, President of the International Propeller Club of the United States. The award was then presented by Gala Chairman Bill Baraldi, Buck Kreihs Marine Repair.
Whitehead expressed heartfelt thanks to the Propeller Club's officers and board for the honor and to his family for their support.
